Major works on Cambridge landmark church

One of Cambridge’s most iconic landmarks is covered in scaffolding as it undergoes major restoration work. The repairs at the Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs on Hills Road follows the discovery of serious structural issues with the church tower’s stonework and pinnacles. Matthew Champion is Historic Churches Support Officer at The Diocese of East Anglia. He tells Julian Clover the project will take most of the year to complete.
