Cambridge Breakfast: The Romsey R

A new public artwork celebrating the railway heritage of Romsey ward has been unveiled on Cavendish Road. Cambridge City Council commissioned local artists Harry Gray and Will Hill, to design and produce the artwork – a giant ‘R’-shaped sculpture comprising a steel framework representing railway tracks, and solid bronze ‘sleepers’. We met with Harry & Will and heard children from the Historyworks project.

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.
