Leigh Chambers welcomes author and former journalist, Roger Hermiston. Roger was Assistant Editor of Radio 4’s Today programme before becoming a writer. He’s with us to talk about his three books on four mysterious and charismatic men: Winston Churchill, soviet spy George Blake, and football managers Don Revie and Brian Clough. He explains what attracted him to these particular characters and how he brought each of them to life in his writing. We also hear from prose poet Jane Monson, and storyteller Chip Colqhhoun tells us how he transferred folk tales to the page in his book Cambridgeshire Folk Tales for Children.
