We’re talking about other people on this weeks show as we look at biography. Why are we so fascinated by other peoples’ lives? Do they cast light on our own or is it just plain nosiness? Our studio guest is Dr Anna Whitelock, historian, author and broadcaster whose first biography, Mary Tudor: England’s First Queen was shortlisted for the Biographer’s Club Best First Biography Prize. Her current books is Elizabeth’s Bedfellows: An Intimate History of the Queen’s Court. We also hear from John Guy, author of Henry VIII’s Children, on why the Tudors still fascinate us and discover why Jane Austen’s biographer, Paula Byrne, always pictures Jane in the sea.
