Book Night: Memoir

The first Book Night show will focus on memoir, with the in-studio guest, Azadeh Moaveni. The author of Lipstick Jihad, Honeymoon in Tehran, and co-author, with Shirin Ebadi, of Iran Awakening.

Azadeh has led a fascinating life, born in California and moving to Iran in 1999 as the only Western journalist in the territory at a highly volatile time. She is a regular contributor to Time Magazine, and has appeared on Sky News and News Night in the UK. She’ll talk about her experiences in Iran and her decision to write a memoir as well as sharing some of her favourite music. The show also includes interviews with Joanne Limberg author of The Woman Who Thought Too Much (a memoir about battling neurosis and OCD), and biographer and life writing tutor, Midge Gillies.

Presented by Leigh Chambers and Alex Ruczaj.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
