Leigh Chambers’ studio guest is author and classicist, Dr Harry Sidebottom. As well as teaching classics at Oxford University, Harry is author of the Warrior of Rome series, and Iron and Rust, his first book in a new series Throne of the Caesars is out this month in paperback. He talks about why classical history still has such a pull over us and how to write a good battle scene.
We also have interviews with Kaddy Benyon, Invited Poet at the Scott Polar Research Institute, on picking the brains of Arctic explorers. And illustrator Carolina Rabei explains how children inspired the illustrations in her first book, Snow, just published by Faber and Faber.
