Bookmark: Fiction for the young

Leigh Chambers and Alex Ruczaj present a fortnightly show featuring Cambridge based writers. We’re focusing on fiction for young people this week. Our studio guest is Chris Priestley. His macabre gothic horror stories have been a great hit with young readers, often reworking familiar Victorian ghost stories.

We also have interviews with multi-talented Glenn Dakin. As well as writing an Emmy award winning episode of Shaun the Sheep and working for Marvel Comics, Glenn is also completing his series of Candleman books and he tells us how he juggles all these different forms of writing.

Caroline Lawrence, award-winning author of The Roman Mysteries, guides us around Cambridge’s Museum of Classical Archaeology reflecting on what inspires her. Victorian ghosts, sheep and the secrets of the Parthenon.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
