Leigh Chambers meets writer and campaigner, Bashir Saoudi. Bashir came onto Leigh’s show a year ago to discuss his book, The Guillotine Choice, an account of his father’s twenty years as a prisoner on the notorious Devil’s Island. He’s back now to update us on his campaign to clear his father’s name and to talk about the work he’s doing with young people in Cambridge through Romsey Mill; Mandy Morton talks to the actor David Suchet who is in Cambridge this week starring in The Importance of Being Earnest at The Cambridge Arts Theatre; Phil Rowe goes on location and hears about the Star Shine Stroll from Donna Talbot from the Arthur Rank Hospice; Matt Webb gets his regular update about Mill Road from Ceri Littlechild; Mandy Morton hears from Vanessa Mann who talks about Cambridge history through picture postcards; Joining Kelvin Tabor and Kate is Almost Royal star Ed Gamble. Ed will be performing his critically acclaimed debut tour Gambletron 5000 at the Junction this Thursday and Leigh Chambers hears from author JS Watts who chats about her new fantasy and paranormal novel, Witchlight, set in South Cambridgeshire.

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge Radio is the Community broadcaster for Cambridge and South Cambs.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.

You can support Cambridge Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
