Gavin Richards and Danni Smith speak to Dr Louise Allen, a paediatric ophthalmologist at Addenbrooke’s with an impressive record of serial innovation. She’s currently testing a device she developed for screening eyesight in newborns – which could change the approach to screening congenital cataracts, the leading cause of avoidable blindness worldwide.
