105 Drive with Julian Clover: Moss FM

Moss FM is a “plant-powered radio”. This is made possible thanks to Photo Microbial Fuel Cells (Photo-MFCs), which harness and convert electrons produced by plants during photosynthesis. It’s part of a project that could see Moss harnessed as a valuable source of energy. Julian went to the Department of Biochemistry and to Professor of Plant Biochemistry, Chris Howe, and biochemist Dr Paolo Bombelli (pictured).

Securing the future of Community Radio

Cambridge 105 Radio is the Community broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.

Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
