From Clean Up to Steam Up! An Illustrated Talk

Tuesday October 11, 2022

£3.00

An illustrated talk by Dr Jinx St Leger, Chief Engineer at Cambridge Museum of Technology

Taking place in The Pye Building, Cambridge Museum of Technology.

Dr St Leger will be explaining how the Museum’s 99 -year- old boiler underwent a major refurbishment which has allowed the Museum to run its historic steam engines again, after a gap of eight years. The boiler was part of the equipment used at Cambridge’s former pumping station, now home to the Museum of Technology, and ran from 1923 up to the 1960s providing the power for the engines and pumps which kept the River Cam free of sewage.

Tickets to the talk are available on the door for £3,00 a head.
