The Real Story of Colditz with Ben Macintyre

£8.00 – £10.00Waterstones Cambridge is proud to collaborate with the Cambridge branch of the Historical Association tohost best-selling historian Ben Macintyre as he tells the real story of WW2’s ‘inescapable’ Nazi prison camp in his new book Colditz: Prisoners of the Castle.
On Wednesday, 14th September at 6.00 pm, Macintyre will tellthe astonishing inside story, revealed for the first time in his new book: a tale of the indomitable human spirit, but also one of snobbery, class conflict, homosexuality, bullying, espionage, boredom, insanity and farce.
With access to an astonishing range of material, Macintryre reveals a remarkable cast of charactersof multiple nationalities hitherto hidden from history, with captors and prisoners living for years cheek-by-jowl in a thrilling game of cat and mouse.
Ben Macintyre is the multi-million copy bestselling author of books including Agent Sonya, SAS: RogueHeroes, The Spy and the Traitor, Agent Zigzag, Operation Mincement, and A Spy Among Friends.
The event will take place in Room SCI105 at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge Campus East Road Cambridge CB11PT. Tickets are £10.00 for General Admission, £8.00 for Waterstones Loyalty Cardholders, and £28 for a Book and Ticket which includes a copy of Colditz (RRP £25).
