This week’s studio guest on Bookmark is debut novelist, Ruth Figgest. Ruth talks to Leigh Chambers about how she came to write Magnetism, a witty and moving story, told in reverse, of a mother-daughter relationship spanning 50 years. We also hear from Cambridge poets JS Watts and Afrodita Nikolova. JS explains why she felt compelled to write her new anthology, The Submerged Sea, while Afrodita discusses the appeal of slam poetry and how she feels about being the first Gates Scholar from Macedonia.
Securing the future of Local Radio
Cambridge 105 Radio is the local broadcaster for the city and South Cambridgeshire.
Our brief is to give a voice to those sometimes excluded from traditional media. And the presenters you hear on air are all volunteers themselves who give up their time for free. We do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.
If everyone who listens to our shows, our podcasts, the businesses we feature, helps to pay for it, our future would be much more secure.
You can support Cambridge 105 Radio by giving monthly or by making a one-off contribution.
