Greg’s Afternoon Record Club took a trip to the seaside for its latest edition, visiting the Bournemouth studio of Ray Dorset, better known as 70s recording artist Mungo Jerry.
In the show Ray plays some of the early rock and roll records that influenced him when he was growing up. He talks about his early performing career and the people he’s played with then and since.
Ray also reveals how he came to write In the Summertime and how he and the first Mungo Jerry band came from nowhere to having three top five hits including two number 1s within the space of a year.
You can hear Greg’s Afternoon Record Club with Mungo Jerry on Sunday 22nd March at 2pm.
