Winter Warmer at Langdon House Care Home

As temperatures drop and energy costs rise, Langdon House Care Home in Union Lane in Cambridge is stepping up to help its local community with their Winter Warmer Scheme.

This heartwarming initiative offers residents in the areas surrounding the care home a welcoming, warm space along with a comforting free soup and a roll in November and December.

A warm welcome for everyone

The Winter Warmer Scheme, which was launched last year by parent company Athena Care Homes, was designed with community support in mind. Athena’s care homes—in Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Peterborough and March—are participating in the scheme with some offering the hot snack every day and others have Winter Warmer special afternoons.

While older people are often among those most vulnerable to colder temperatures, the initiative is not limited to senior citizens. Langdon House wants to extend its warmth to anyone who needs it.
