£11.00 – £16.00Rural Ireland, 1833. Soldiers arrive in your village but is this a military occupation or, as they claim, just an administrative act? Either way, changes are afoot.
At first, they only want to change the Gaelic place names into English – but where will it end? Should you stop them now or embrace the inevitability of progress? In short, will they bring improvements, opportunity and maybe even love – or destroy your cherished traditions? Which side are you on?
Brian Friel’s modern classic explores the vital role that language plays in cultural identity and the lives, loves and hopes of the ordinary people involved.
This production is recommended for ages 12 and above.
