Cambridge Folk Club – May Events

5th May: Open Stage with special guests KC Jones, KC Jones are a husband and wife duo from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, who play mainly original songs from their albums ‘Captive’ and ‘Roots’. Karen is known for her songwriting and powerful vocals, whilst Colin lends delicate harmonies. This will be their first visit to Cambridge Folk Club.

12th May: Guest Night with Chris While and Johnny Heyes. Support: Sascha Osborn – Chris While has earned herself the reputation of being one of the finest singers to come out of these islands. She has toured tirelessly over the last 35 years, originally as a soloist, and in 1991 she rose to the attention of the Folk Roots world with an arsenal of original songs and her stunning vocals. Her first three albums were recorded in quick succession

19th May: Guest Night with Christina Alden & Alex Patterson. Support: Hugh Boyde and Brian Cleary. Christina Alden and Alex Patterson are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from Norwich. Their music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive accomplished musicianship and a creative songwriting style that is both delicate and moving.

26th May: Guest Night with Liz Simcock. Support: James Eisner. Floorspot: Anna Kent. Liz Simcock is one of the country’s finest female singer songwriters. Her songs – often autobiographical and highly personal –  are immediately accessible to audiences and injected with poetry, emotion and splashes of humour.
