SUMMARY:Cambridge Beer Festival 2025
DESCRIPTION:There’ll be over 200 British real ales from over 100 breweries and 80 ciders and perries from near and far\, along with the international bar\, mead and wine. Cambridge CAMRA’s cheese counter will be in its usual spot\, with cheese from around Britain accompanied by pork pies\, scotch eggs\, olives\, breads and more. \nAdditionally\, this year the Festival is hosting the category rounds and semi-finals for the CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain. Some of the best beers in the UK will be judged in this competition and will be available for everyone to enjoy at the Festival. Results are expected to be announced at approximately 5pm on Tuesday 20th May. \nAs ever\, the festival supports a charity every year. This year\, we have chosen The Red Hen Project. Founded more than 26 years ago\, the charity’s dedicated family workers provide hands-on support through home visits\, as well as working with children in schools and their families in the community.

DESCRIPTION:Following the death of a much-loved husband\, a group of ordinary women in a small Yorkshire Women’s Institute are prompted to do an extraordinary thing and set about creating a nude calendar to raise money for charity. The story of the Calendar Girls launched a global phenomenon: a million copycat calendars\, a record-breaking movie\, stage play and now a musical written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth. \nThe Over Players was formed in 1984\, celebrating their 40th anniversary last year. They generally produce two large productions each year – a Spring show in May/June\, and a pantomime in December. Membership starts at age 11 with no upper age limit – and there are a number of members who have been involved since day one!
