DESCRIPTION:Taking place at Turnstone Suite\, Cambridge Rugby Club \nFree 6-week beginners’ course\, taught by Saskia Frisby accompanied by Keith Smith on fiddle\, every Tuesday from 8 September to 20 October\, 7.30-9.30pm. \nScottish country dancing (SCD) is a wonderful way to make new friends and have fun whilst being active. It is traditional\, social dancing: you dance with a different partner each dance\, in sets with a number of other couples. No previous dance experience is required and no need for a Scottish connection! \nOver six weeks\, Saskia will take you through a structured programme\, teaching you the basic formations and steps\, developing your ability to enjoy an increasing number of Scottish dances. DESCRIPTION:Ian Rawlinson has a new solo exhibition in Cambridge. Abrasions is his 10th solo exhibition at the Edge Café\, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. After spending the last 14 years working on imagery inspired by places and memories from his past in Cambridge\, and more recently North West Norfolk\, his work is now evolving in different and as yet\, unknown directions. \nRawlinson’s work has been widely exhibited in the UK and internationally\, and has been recognised with awards and residencies. The second half of the concert comprises William Walton’s monumental Symphony No. 1 (1935).
