SUMMARY:Chimera - Exhibition at The Edge
DESCRIPTION:Taking place at The Edge Cafe\,  351 Mill Road\, Cambridge CB1 3DF \nOpen Mon – Sat. 09.00 – 16.00 \nIan Rawlinson’s Chimera series is inspired by a black-and-white film clip of the last Thylacine in captivity. This film prompted Rawlinson to create images which deal with ideas of a vanished past: transformation and memory. \nThe new prints combine part of the now-extinct Thylacine with places in Cambridge from Rawlinson’s past\, primarily Arbury and King’s Hedges. These places have a nostalgic feeling and are reminders of a childhood spent in and around the newly created housing\, the nearby farmland and derelict army base. The idea that the Thylacine is gone reflects his feelings about childhood\, coupled with an intense longing to see the past once again\, this time from the vantage point of the present. \nFurther information www.ianrawlinson.com

SUMMARY:Dial M for Murder
DESCRIPTION:Marrying for money often doesn’t go to plan. It certainly hasn’t for faded tennis star Tony Wendice as he believes his wife will ultimately divorce him for her on-off lover\, a charming crime writer. For Tony losing his wife would be catastrophic\, not because he loves her but her fortune. He consequently orchestrates a devious plot to have her killed. On paper it’s the perfect murder. But when the conspiracy goes awry and with his wife’s on-off lover back in the picture Tony scrambles to get his diabolical scheme back on track using the incriminating evidence to his advantage. Will the wits of a shrewd inspector and a prolific crime writer manage to unveil Tony’s malicious scheme before it’s too late? \nThis production is suitable for ages 12 and over. \n14th to 18th October at 7.45 pm. \n\nTickets – £10.00 to £17.50. \nFor info go to Dial M for Murder
