SUMMARY:Exhibition - Passing Traces
DESCRIPTION:A new show\, titled Passing Traces\, runs from 15 September – 5 October at the Ruskin Gallery\, Cambridge School of Art (Anglia Ruskin University). Curated by Elisabetta Garletti (Murray Edwards College)\, it brings together works by the AA2A resident artists: Isabel Castro-Jung\, Stepanka Facerova\, Joana Mamede\, Natasha Vikulina\, Sid White-Jones. \nThe exhibition asks: what remains after something has passed? Through performance\, sculpture\, film\, and installation\, you explore the idea of trace as both presence and absence\, layering memory\, movement\, and material in unexpected ways. \nIt’s a great chance to highlight the thriving artistic community in Cambridge and open up a conversation about contemporary art and performance. \nFor more info e-mail Sid White-Jones at sj668@cam.ac.uk

SUMMARY:Chimera - Exhibition at The Edge
DESCRIPTION:Taking place at The Edge Cafe\,  351 Mill Road\, Cambridge CB1 3DF \nOpen Mon – Sat. 09.00 – 16.00 \nIan Rawlinson’s Chimera series is inspired by a black-and-white film clip of the last Thylacine in captivity. This film prompted Rawlinson to create images which deal with ideas of a vanished past: transformation and memory. \nThe new prints combine part of the now-extinct Thylacine with places in Cambridge from Rawlinson’s past\, primarily Arbury and King’s Hedges. These places have a nostalgic feeling and are reminders of a childhood spent in and around the newly created housing\, the nearby farmland and derelict army base. The idea that the Thylacine is gone reflects his feelings about childhood\, coupled with an intense longing to see the past once again\, this time from the vantage point of the present. \nFurther information www.ianrawlinson.com

SUMMARY:An Evening with Francis Rossi at the Corn Exchange
DESCRIPTION:An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and more. \nFrancis will perform many of his signature hits that made the Quo name\, plus some personal favourites and deeper cuts\, and he’ll be telling more stories about his incredible life in music. Think you know Francis? Not yet you don’t…  The story starts with Pictures of Matchstick Men but continues right up to the present day. Francis will mostly be playing his Acoustasonic guitar which\, as he says\, “is basically a Telecaster but is more compatible with a show of this nature – it still has the ring and sound of a Tele”. \nThese new 2025 shows promise lots more music\, but plenty of talk too. The shows will lift the curtain on what life is really like in one of Britain’s biggest and best bands\, and also provide some context for all the crazy stuff that has happened along the way. \nTickets – £43.00 to £103.00. \nFor info go to The Corn Exchange Box Office
