SUMMARY:Drop-In Group for Families of Children with Special Needs
DESCRIPTION:A new free drop-in support group that starts on 7th July 2025 at Melbourn Hub\, Mondays 9-11am. It’s for families of children with SEN and is run by Jo Grazebrook\, a former teacher for 25 years\, SENCo and parent of children with SEN. SUMMARY:Yelling Church Flower Festival
DESCRIPTION:Taking place from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm on both days. Free entry and parking.\nRefreshments including home made cakes available both days. Stalls from 1pm on Monday. \nThis will be the 24th Flower Festival held in Yelling church (done every other year) to raise funds to keep the doors of the church open! Approximately 20 ladies from the village spend the Friday and Saturday doing flower arrangements to depict their subject which this year is Careers and Children’s classical books. There will be arrangement entitled Three Little Pigs\, Paddington Bear\, Treasure Island\, Firefighter\, Marine biologist\, photographer to name just a few\, about 30 in total. \nOn the Sunday the event opens to the public and there is an outside service at 10am but the doors will be open to view the flowers from 10 am – 5pm on both the Sunday and Bank holiday Monday. Also on the Monday from 1pm there will be stalls\,  including\, cake stall\, plant stall\, tombola\, white elephant\, flowers\, and a draw for some luxury hampers. \nRefreshments are served in the adjacent Thatch Barn from 11 am – 5pm on each day and whilst it is free entry to the church and free parking\, voluntary contribution from visitors would be welcome. \nFor further info e-mail sanchia ascroft<sanchiaa@aol.com

SUMMARY:Coton Fete
DESCRIPTION:Coton Fete is a local event organised by volunteers from the village in support of local charities (Village Hall\, Cotton School PSFA etc). The event takes place on 25/08 (August Bank Holiday) from 2pm till around 6 pm. \nThe event will be led by Jezoo\, UK’s family entertainer of the 2022 award.  so there will be magic show and then a dog show(no need to register before event\, just being your dog on the day). This will be judge by panel of children judges. There will be also a display of some of the autogyros including Little Nellie from You Only Live Once\, James Bond movie and there will be  games for children and adults (ladder game\, tombola\, ruffle\, beat the goalie etc) \n-There will be crafts stalls for children (free and some paid ones)\, egg races\, three legged race and water balloon challenge and there will bean  egg race\, three legged race and water balloon challenge. \nThere will be a BBQ stall as well as pizza truck\, well stocked bar and bubble tea stall and after the main event there is a band playing in the evening in the pub. \nThis is a yearly family event.
