SUMMARY:Christmas Time Events at Anglesey Abbey
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a memorable day out at the National Trust’s Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire this Christmas with brand new experiences in the house and gardens. \nMeet Father Christmas as he stops off at Anglesey Abbey to deliver presents before his busiest day of the year. Children can enjoy a cosy story time with Father Christmas and have fun making and decorating a wish to hang on the Christmas tree with Pepper Mint the Elf.Anglesey Abbey is working with The Walking Theatre Company to put on this festive\, immersive Santa experience. Each session lasts for 45-minutes; tickets are £26 per child and an accompanying adult is included in the price. Children will receive a gift from Father Christmas and will have the opportunity to take photos together at the end. \nFather Christmas will be at Anglesey Abbey each Friday\, Saturday and Sunday from 29 November to Sunday 22 December\, with an added bonus of Monday 23 December! Visitors can chat to the reindeer handlers and enjoy taking photos. \nFor the first time this winter\, 10 beautifully painted bear sculptures will be displayed on a trail through the gardens at Anglesey Abbey. \nIn collaboration with Wild in Art and Walker Books\, the trail promises an enchanting journey through art and adventure\, inspired by the beloved children’s story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen\, illustrated by Helen Oxenbury. \nThe grounds are open daily from 9.30am – 4pm and the trail is free for National Trust members while normal admission charges apply for non-National Trust members. \nThe house at Anglesey Abbey will be beautifully decorated for the Christmas season\, with festive displays highlighting Lord Fairhaven’s vast and significant collection. DESCRIPTION:The acclaimed Goldmark Gallery has teamed up with Cambridge Charity ArtSpace 5-7 Portugal Place. Together they will stage an exciting exhibition of trailblazing British Pop Art at the city’s iconic modernist building and exhibition space. \nThe show will feature vibrant pieces from renowned British artists such as Eduardo Paolozzi\, Patrick Caulfield\, Joe Tilson\, Peter Blake\, Richard Hamilton\, Allen Jones\, RB Kitaj\, and Michael Rothenstein. The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday 24 November and will then run on Thursdays and Saturdays thereafter and by appointment into February. Admission is free. DESCRIPTION:Following the success of last year’s first ever lights trail in the Botanic Garden\, this year’s event will again bring the Garden to life after dark with spectacular displays and artistic interventions – creating a beautiful landscape for visitors to enjoy after dark. \nThe lights will highlight some of the Garden’s most beloved features\, such as the Fountain\, Lake and Glasshouse Range\, and create special experiences around the rest of the Landscape.
