Next Up: Episode 18 – Can (and Should) a Bat stop HS2?
Wednesday 4 November 2020, 9 pm
Vice-president of the Cambridge Natural History Society, Kevin Hand, and local citizen naturalist James Murray-White join us this month to reveal how they discovered the endangered bats that temporarily halted High Speed Rail construction at Jones Hill Wood. We also talk to Professor Victor Anderson, of the Global Sustainability Institute, about how the government valued the natural spaces HS2 passes through – and the pros and cons of their approach. We finish with a quick intro to some of the events at the upcoming Cambridge Zero Climate Change Festival.
