Next Up: Episode 14 – Is Cambridgeshire a Green County?
Wednesday 1 July 2020, 9 pm
Is Cambridgeshire a green county? With the pandemic offering some opportunities for change, but 2020 on track to be one of the warmest years ever, we decided to look into this question, and found a lot of issues worth looking into – some encouraging, some not so much. In this, the first of two episodes on the question, we find out about some big changes coming to our region around transport, with Edward Leigh of Smarter Cambridge Transport and Lauren Stabler of Anglia Ruskin University discussing the City Deal, and what’s really needed to make Cambridge’s transport carbon neutral; and we talk to Cllr Pippa Heylings about the South Cambs District Council’s just adopted zero carbon strategy and how it points the way for the other local authorities in our region. Is what our local authorities and planners are doing now making Cambs more sustainable? Or are we on the wrong road?
