The Tithe Barn Trust is a small charity and not-for profit volunteer group committed to saving and sympathetically restoring the Tithe Barn, in Landbeach, for Community use.
Tithe Barns are rare in the UK and this is the only remaining one in Cambridgeshire in its original condition with thatched roof, timber frame, timber granary and brick threshing floor. Experts believe the barn may well date to the medieval period.
Sadly, the barn is in a state of disrepair and membership and donations will help restore this unique Grade II listed barn for you to enjoy.
There are various events being held to publicise the Tithe Barn including Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream performed by the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts June 14), a summer fruit and veg competition (28 July), a story telling day and family games (28 August) and many more.
All events are free, but donations are welcome.
