DESCRIPTION:There will be a treat for G&S fans in the Huntingdon area when ‘The Wandering Minstrels’ visit St. John’s Church\, Holywell-cum-Needingworth for “The World of Gilbert and Sulivan” on Saturday 22 November. \nThey will sing\, act and dance their way through many of the Savoy Operas including ‘The Pirates of Penzance’\, ‘The Gondoliers’\, ‘HMS Pinafore’\, ‘The Mikado’\, ‘Utopia\, Ltd’\, ‘Ruddigore’ and ‘The Sorcerer’. \nArtistes appearing in this Gala concert are Alexandra Ferrari\, Emma Stratton\, Charles Mills\, Bruce Graham and Tim Hurst-Brown\, with Peter Hewitt at the keyboard. \nConcert tickets are £15 (including interval refreshments) from 01480 465821 or via wmichaelg50@gmail.com. Proceeds from the event will go to St. John’s Church. \nThe concert\, which begins at 7.30pm\, is a light-hearted evening of songs and scenes from the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas\, traditionally staged and presented in period costume.
