The Ipswich Transport Museum – June Open Days
Wednesday June 1–Sunday June 26
The Ipswich Transport Museum in the Old Trolleybus Depot, Cobham Rd, Ipswich, will be open in June on the dates listed below:
Sundays: 5th , 12th, 19th & 26th, 11am until 4.00 pm/ Monday: 1st, 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm/ Tuesday: 2nd, 1.00 pm until 4.00 pm.
100 main exhibits, nearly all of which have a direct Ipswich connection, and cover the Transport, Engineering and Agricultural history of Ipswich.
You Can climb aboard several of the trams, trolleybuses and buses, and young visitors are encouraged to ring the fire engine bells. There are displays featuring a cycle repair shop, as well as a garage and motorcycle repair shop and a model railway layout among others. There is a small young children’s play area located close to the Tea Room seating area.
Our visitors nearly all say they are amazed at what we have in our collection.
The Tea Room will be serving light refreshments and we also have a well-stocked gift shop where you can purchase mementos of your visit.
Saturday June the 18th will see the Museum participating in The Ipswich Transport and Model Festival. Included in the price of the ticket for this event will be a free bus service between the Museum, the Ipswich Railway Modelers Association HQ, The Ipswich Model Engineering Society and The Ipswich Model Railway Centre using historic vehicles.
