Moths at Wandlebury
Friday July 19 - Saturday July 20Free
Wandlebury Country Park is home to hundreds of species of common and rarer moths. Many are very beautiful and some have evocative names, such as Flounced Rustic and Powdered Quaker. They are usually difficult to see because they are active at dark. Come along to find out which species are on the wing and get a close look at them.
NB: Free event, donations welcome. Suitable for ages 9+. Bring a torch and remember it gets cooler after dark. Meet at the Stables Education Centre. Sunglasses can also be handy for the bright light. Mini workshop available on the Friday. On the Saturday morning you will look at some of the species that have been caught over-night and release them. You can come to either or both.
Two sessions – Fri 19th July: 7.30 pm-late or Sat 20th July: 6.00 am-9.00 am.
