“Farewell the tranquil mind; farewell content.”
It’s the ‘Swinging Sixties’. Free Jazz is growing. Within a smokey, dimly lit club Iago plots his scheme to overthrow Othello, the Moor. With jazz standards oozing in the background, relationships swing amongst the perils of suspicion and deceit.
Jealousy, the green eyed monster, is lurking in the shadows.
Othello is a powerful exploration of the human condition and the disaster that can arise from our emotions. Trust is eroded and innocence is corrupted in this tragic tale of manipulation and jealousy. Featuring live jazz, this exciting, new take on one of Shakespeare’s darkest plays is not one to miss.
Nightly performances at 7.45 pm with a matinee at 2.30 pm on Saturday.
Tickets – £8.00 to £14.00.
