A series of concerts from October 2017 to May 2018
A wonderful selection from the glorious chamber music repertoire. Highlights will include the Brahms G minor piano quartet with the great Irish pianist Barry Douglas. And in the same concert Thomas Adès’s Arcadiana, written when Tom was a student in Cambridge and given its world première here more than twenty years ago. Then Shostakovich’s third quartet is a visceral and amazingly powerful piece, especially paired and contrasted with the ‘Harp’ quartet of Beethoven — one of the most serene of his masterpieces for the medium.
All concerts will begin at 7.30 p.m. and end at approximately 9.30 p.m.
