Cambridge Summer Music was founded in 1979. It exists to promote live classical music of the highest calibre in Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
It presents outstanding soloists, chamber ensembles and orchestras as well as supporting talented young artists at the beginning of their careers. It provides a platform for the works of living composers as well as more familiar repertoire, all performed in beautiful historic settings in and around our great city.
The festival opens with Mozart Requiem at King’s College Chapel. Other events include organ and piano recitals, music for kids, Cambridge Voices, and the musical evenings at the Botanic Gardens. The festival ends with the finale at West Road Concert Hall.
