What can we say about these Cambridge Ska legends that hasn’t already been said? Just in case you’ve been living on a different planet for the last 20 years or so they always guarantee to give the whole audience a great time and a great party with a few surprises! You WILL want to dance, stomp, skank and sing along!
The Marching SKAletons
The Marching SKAletons (Brighton) are a dynamic band, full of fun and character. Horn led, focus is on 60s Jamaican instrumentals plus originals and some with a guest vocalist. Formed in 2009 the band have performed with Madness at several of their events aswell as being the house band for T20 cricket at the County Cricket Ground in Hove.
The Gangsters
The Gangsters are one of the finest working, original, classic Ska & 2 Tone covers bands. This seven-piece, highly fuelled band, have originality at the forefront of their sound and have enjoyed playing to crowds all over the country, supporting and playing alongside such acts as Susan Cadogan, Bad Manners, The Selecter, The Beat, Hepcat, The Cockney Rejects, to name a few, and the late, great “Godfather of Ska”, Mr. Laurel Aitken.
Frontline Sound System
DJ John ‘Chids/Chiddy’ Chidlow boasts the biggest and best Boss Reggae and Ska Sound System in Cambridge. (and probably the world!) Chids (and guests) have become regulars at Cambridge Ska Festival djing last year’s events no’s 3 & 4. You will be impressed by his stack of wooden boxed speakers and vinyl delights providing the ideal interval music between bands.
