First celebrated in the UK in 1987, Black History Month (BHM) is held each year in October, with a programme that promotes the history and contributions that African, Caribbean, Asian and other BAME communities have made to Cambridge and the UK.
This year’s programme is the most varied, with the greatest number of partners, ever seen in Cambridge. There is drama and story telling, music and film, lectures and social events, history and current affairs. There are events for young and old, and many are free.
For details of the whole programme go to https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/sites/default/files/black_history_month_flyer_2017_f
What’s Ons are broadcast across the day at 7.30, 10.30, 1.30 and 4.30, and at weekends.
